Program Benefits
The intensive therapy program provides an individualized treatment plan based on the medical and functional needs of the patient. Benefits include:  

Environmental Modifications - Special call lights, prism glasses for TV viewing, telephone head sets and other specialized devices are all modifications available at Rehabcentreto assist patients in regaining their independence.  

Bowel and Bladder Training - Rehabilitation nurses help to manage and teach patients personal care issues such as bladder and bowel function / training.  

Sexual Functioning Education - Patients are educated on the physical functioning of their bodies, as well as the psychological aspects. Compensatory techniques are suggested to maintain sexuality.

Family Conferences - Patients and their families may meet with members of the treatment team in a formal conference to discuss progress, discharge planning and any concerns.

Family & Caregiver Training - Family members and caregivers are trained to assist the patient with daily activities in the home or other environment.  

Psychology - A clinical psychologist is on staff to assist patients and families to cope with major lifestyle changes as a result of a disability. Group and/or individual sessions are provided.
