How To Support Little Company of Mary
Little
Company of Mary Community Health Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)
charitable organization, which was incorporated in 1975 as the hospital’s
fund-raising corporation. Since then, the Foundation has raised more than $36
million to assist the organization in meeting the medical needs of the
community.
Foundation fund-raising programs include:
Annual Fund Appeals
Annual appeals are made to individuals, corporations and foundations for gifts
that support general hospital and community outreach programs, such as Partners
for Healthy Kids, Emergency Services, Mother/Baby Home Follow-up Program, the
Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Center and Patient Care
Representatives.
Capital Campaigns
A capital campaign is designed to raise a specified sum of money within a defined
time frame to meet the varied capital needs of the hospital. The recently completed
capital drive, Campaign 2000, was a five-year, $7.6 million project to meet the
community’s women’s health, critical care and emergency medical needs well
into the next millennium via the construction of a new, five-story patient care tower
at Little Company of Mary Hospital. The Campaign for Health is a 3-year, $6 million
project to meet the Community’s emergency medical needs at Little Company of
Mary – San Pedro Hospital.
Special Events
The Foundation holds four major fund-raising events each year. Sellabration is an elegant,
black tie dinner-dance and auction, held each year in early November. Since 1975, this
classic event has raised funds for the hospital’s many charity care, patient care and
community outreach programs. “Simple Abundance, a Day of Women’s Wellness”
raises funds for our Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). This year’s event featured
Key Note Speaker will be Ann Jillian. For Our Children, held annually in the spring, is a
collaborative event sponsored by Little Company of Mary Community Health Foundation and
Sandpipers. This sumptuous food and wine-tasting extravaganza raises funds to support the
Partners for Healthy Kids mobile pediatric clinic. The annual Little Company of Mary
Community Health Foundation Golf Classic, celebrating its 27th year in May 2007, is a
two-course event unlike any other in the South Bay.
