The Community Advisory Board is a group of community members that meets on a regular
basis to offer input and guidance to the Rehabcentre. We value the input and commitment
that these individuals show, and their interest in helping us to improve the program.
One of the main focuses of the Community Advisory Board is how we meet the needs of
our patients. This concept is extended to the needs of the Community as
a whole.
Projects supported or initiated by the Rehabcentre Community Advisory Board
include:
| |
A durable medical equipment recycling initiative in conjunction with
Goodwill Industries that provides for the collection and distribution of unneeded
wheelchairs, walkers and other items to those who are unable to obtain
new items
|
|
| |
Outreach and education to South Bay residents on stroke prevention and
treatment
|
|
| |
An ongoing self help group at a local church
|
|
| |
Tai Chi classes for current and former Rehabcentre patients
|
|
| |
A buddy system matching current patients who are interested in meeting a
graduate of the program with similar diagnosis or concerns
|
If you or a family member are interested in joining the Community Advisory Board or
participating in any current projects, please contact the program at (310)
